The Nablus City Council Holds Its Weekly Meeting in the Old City to Emphasize the Priority of Its Revitalization and Development
The Nablus Municipal Council held its weekly meeting yesterday, Sunday, at the Community Resource Development Center in the Old City, in a move reflecting the Council’s commitment to revitalizing the Old City and strengthening its status as a historical, cultural, and commercial hub that forms an integral part of the city’s identity.
Nablus Mayor Ms. Anan Al-Atireh affirmed that the Old City will be at the heart of the Municipal Council’s priorities in the coming period, given its cultural, historical, and economic heritage, which must be preserved and strengthened.
She added that holding the session in the Old City sends a clear message affirming the Council’s commitment to revitalizing this vital part of the city, as it is one of the main pillars of the municipality’s development vision, noting that the Council is working to prepare and implement a number of initiatives and projects aimed at revitalizing the Old City, improving its facilities, and enhancing its commercial and tourist presence.
Al-Atireh emphasized that the revitalization of the Old City is not limited to the preservation of historic buildings and landmarks, but also includes supporting its economic and social activity, thereby contributing to the consolidation of its status as the historic heart of Nablus and its vibrant, lively center.
