A Cultural Tour of Nablus
From Tel Balata to the Old City
Starting from Tel Balata (the historic Canaanite city of Shechem) and passing through the alleys of Nablus’s Old City with its rich history, we set out with the “Sawa Mashina” group from Ramallah on a unique cultural tour to explore Nablus’s most prominent heritage and historical landmarks.
Participants learned about the site of Tel Balata and its historical significance, which spans over 5,000 years. The group then headed to the Old City, where they wandered through the alleys, markets, and historical sites, listening to stories of the place that carry Nablus’s memory and cultural identity, passed down through generations.
Participants expressed their admiration for the city’s beauty, the warmth of its people, and the richness of its heritage, emphasizing the importance of these tours in raising awareness of and preserving Palestinian heritage.
