"When Poetry Meets Art... Rachid Krichi's Exhibition Evokes the Legacy of Mahmoud Darwish in Nablus' Old City – June 6, 2026

Under the patronage of the Municipality of Nablus, an exhibition by Algerian visual artist Rachid Qureshi, inspired by the poems and legacy of the great Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, opened at the Old City Gallery in the municipality’s Community Resource Development Center, in collaboration with the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation.

The exhibition is part of a unique creative experiment that combines poetry and visual art, with Qureshi drawing inspiration for his works from Mahmoud Darwish’s poetic and humanistic world, presenting a contemporary visual vision that evokes Palestinian cultural identity and highlights its aesthetic and intellectual dimensions.

The exhibition features a collection of artworks that reflect the creative interplay between word and image, translating the themes of Darwish’s poems and his national and humanitarian visions into a visual language rich in symbols and meanings. It also allows visitors to view examples of the late poet’s handwritten poems, adding a distinctive documentary and cultural dimension to the exhibition.

The exhibition will run for two weeks, welcoming visitors and those interested in art and culture to an exceptional artistic experience that highlights the presence of Palestinian culture on the global art scene and fosters dialogue among various forms of creative expression.
